Humphrys' Heavy Duty Polyethylene Tarp gives you the full 20 mil (≈10 oz/yd²) your operation demands, backed by a 2,500 denier woven core, heat-welded seams and hems, high tear strength, and -40°F cold crack resistance.

This heavy duty poly tarp handles:

Robust Construction

This heavy duty poly tarp is built with heat-welded seams and hems that are stronger than sewn construction and maintain full water resistance with no needle holes or weak points. The outer coating is 70% thicker than standard-grade poly tarps, giving this polyethylene tarp the durability to handle punctures, tears, and abrasions on active job sites and farm operations.

Reinforced Edges and Hardware

Every edge of this 20 mil tarp features double-thick heat-sealed hems for maximum strength under tension. #4 spurred brass grommets with 1/2" I.D. are spaced every 24 inches to distribute tie-down tension evenly across the entire tarp, while twin grommets in every corner provide secure attachment that holds in high wind.

American Ingenuity in Every Seam

For decades, Humphrys has turned high-density woven polyethylene into tarps that work as hard as you do. In our Indiana facility, we cut the coated fabric, heat-weld the seams and hems (as you can see here), set the grommets, and thoroughly inspect each tarp. The cross-woven poly blocks water, resists tearing, and shrugs off UV damage, making these tarps a dependable choice. Built start to finish in the USA, they are ready for years of service.

Double-Thick Hems: Our tarps are made with heat-sealed hems.  The fabric is folded back on itself and then welded in place for an incredibly robust edge.
Black Brass Grommets: Every 2 feet we put a 1/2" inner diameter brass grommet.  These grommets will not corrode, and can be counted on to stand up to long use and demanding tasks.

Options for Made-to-Order Tarps:

Grommets with Reinforced Patches: Made for tension-heavy jobs such as construction work, this option has reinforced polyethylene patches around each grommet. The #4 rolled rim brass grommets offer a 1/2" inside diameter.  Made in America from weather-resistant brass.

D-Rings with Reinforced Patches: Ideal for securing large loads, this configuration uses webbing and steel-plated zinc D-rings plus four-layer polyester patches. The 1-1/8-inch D-rings accommodate standard webbing and handle heavier weights. Made in America, they remain reliable in harsh conditions.

Rope in Hem: Adding a rope to the hem of the tarp has been a popular way of ensuring the tarp against tension for decades. Sewn to attachment points in between the layers of the hem, the rope will take the strain of weight, wind, and tension, saving the fabric around it and substantially increasing the loads the tarp can withstand.
